Job Type: Full Time
Location: Dairymaster Global Headquarters, Causeway, Tralee, Co. Kerry, Ireland.

As an Electrical Engineer at Dairymaster, you will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and compliance of electrical systems for machinery, ensuring all equipment meets the latest regulatory and safety standards. This position offers autonomy, project ownership from concept to completion, and the opportunity to work on a diverse range of machinery projects in a dynamic environment.

Role

Project Delivery
  • Take ownership of projects from concept to completion, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, software, project management) to deliver high-quality solutions within established timelines.
  • Develop and execute testing protocols to validate electrical systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Assist in the installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of electrical systems, including FAT and SAT for the factory floor/production.
Continuous Improvement
  • Accept training and upskilling from the company when necessary.
  • Continually update your technical knowledge, especially regarding CE marking, safety standards, and company products.
  • Support internal and external audits related to machinery safety and CE compliance.
Regulatory Compliance
  • Lead and document the CE marking process for new and modified machinery, ensuring compliance with the Machinery Directive/Regulation, Low Voltage Directive, EMC Directive, and all relevant harmonized.
  • Prepare and assist to maintain comprehensive technical files, including risk assessments, test procedures, test reports, circuit diagrams, and Declarations of Conformity, in accordance with the Machinery Directives / Regulations.
  • Stay updated on evolving CE marking requirements, including industrial cybersecurity, and participate in relevant training.
Safety Engineering
  • Conduct and document risk assessments in line with ISO 12100 and company procedures, ensuring all hazards are identified and mitigated.
  • Design and validate safety-related control systems (e.g., emergency stops, interlocks) to meet safety requirements and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure all machinery meets essential health and safety requirements (EHSR).

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on electrical system design and optimization for machine building.
  • Proven experience with machinery building processes, including technical file preparation and risk assessment/management.
  • Knowledge of the Machinery Directive, Low Voltage Directive, EMC Directive, and harmonized standards.
  • Experience designing and validating safety-related control systems.
  • Familiarity with electrical testing and measurement equipment.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, Autodesk Electrical.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects independently, ensuring successful delivery within scope, budget, and timeline constraints.
  • Experience with PLCs, VSDs, and LV switchgear (desirable).
  • Awareness of industrial cybersecurity requirements for machinery (desirable).
