Production Planner

Dairymaster are currently recruiting for: Production Planner

Job Type: Full Time
Location: Dairymaster Global Headquarters, Causeway, Tralee, Co. Kerry, Ireland.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:

• Create and maintain Production Schedules to meet demand based on customer orders and internal usage.
• Provide weekly / monthly Schedules to production departments ensuring customer priorities are optimised.
• Liaise with Purchasing to ensure all components required to support production schedules.
• Interface with Production Supervisors, Material Handlers and Purchasing and resolve concerns regarding schedules, part shortages, expedites, etc.
• Analyse planning requirements and determine the quantity and order date for materials needed to support schedule.
• Coordinate and execute scheduling activities for assigned parts using ERP systems.
• Communicate critical supply issues internally & externally.
• Resolve backorders quickly and efficiently.
• Liaise with other departments to maintain integrity of master data on ERP system for relevant product lines.
• Participate on cross functional teams on identified projects.
• Optimise inventory to ensure good trade-off between inventory turns, product availability and cost.
• Identify opportunities for improvement, make constructive suggestions for change and drive results.
• Performs other related duties and tasks, as required.

Qualification/Experiences:

• Primary Degree in Engineering or Supply Chain and/or APICS certification.
• 2 – 4 years work related experience of production planning and scheduling in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of production planning techniques and material control principles.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
• PC skills including standard offices packages.
• Ability to work under strict time constraints and meet deadlines in a timely manner.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Demonstrated computer skills preferably Microsoft Excel and Word processing as well as ability to understand and learn customised computer software programmes.
• Excellent knowledge of ERP and understanding of Advanced Planning tools / Material Requirement Planning tools are a prerequisite.
