Dairymaster are currently recruiting for: Senior Design Engineer

Job Type: Full Time
Location: Dairymaster Global Headquarters, Causeway, Tralee, Co. Kerry, Ireland.

Role

• Design and optimisation of milking, feeding and cleaning systems for the agricultural sector.
• Develop manufacturing drawings and confer with production departments and other personnel.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, specify components to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
• Research and develop ideas for new products.
• Other duties as needed and assigned.

Requirements:

• Detailed knowledge of mechanical design and operation of mechanical systems required.
• Degree in Engineering is desirable..
• Excellent Knowledge of the principles of design, sketching, computer-aided design, industrial materials and processes, manufacturing methods, and engineering.
• Creativity and technical knowledge is essential – understand the technical aspects of how products function.
• Strong sense of the aesthetic – an eye for colour and detail and a sense of balance and proportion.
• Be imaginative and persistent and must be able to communicate their ideas visually, verbally, and in writing.
• Proven ability to communicate design and product concepts through 2 and 3 dimensional media, e.g. hand sketching, rendered images, CAD, model making.
• Proven ability to work with AutoCAD Inventor for part modelling and assembly creation.
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
• Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative.
• Strong knowledge of Agriculture/Dairying desirable.
• Excellent IT skills must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
• Logically and technically minded, with excellent organisational and personal management skills.
• Professional and mature attitude to work.
• Energy, drive and enthusiasm.
